The design process is divided into five stages:

  • Introduction
  • Describe the Site
  • Travel Plan Scope
  • Travel Plan Delivery
  • Conclusions

Your progress is automatically saved in My Travel Plans, meaning you can stop and come back to your submission at any time.

On completing each stage, you will be asked to check your answers against criteria used by local authorities for Travel Plan assessment.

Once you have submitted the Travel Plan, the planning authority will then assess and review it as part of the established planning process.

While the toolkit is designed to improve the likelihood of your Travel Plan being effective and accepted by the planning authority, the Travel Plan may still be subject to challenge and review.

You can use the Resources section at any point and return to your Travel Plan through the user menu at the top right of the page.
